I started getting my older 1999 Passport back in good running condition before the winter. I've been coming to University Tire Auto for 5-6 years and I'm never disappointed. Dina handled everything like a personal concierge. She handled Uber for me, kept me abreast of all the goings on with my car. Even the mechanic accompanied me on a test ride when I reported an issue. When anything unforseen arose during inspection, the mechanic took pictures and an inspection report was emailed for viewing. This was a procedure for service approval I had never got before at other car dealers before any additional services were done. My Passport runs like new and I will continue doing business with Dina and the rest of the staff at University Tire Auto. Nunny W.

I give an A+ to this auto shop Specially To Dina , She has excellent customer service skills not only that but she makes you feel confident, that your car is in good hands , kind of like "I'm leaving my car with an angel , " Dina is a sweet hart she was in constant contact, with me regarding my car, and if you have extended warranty in your car, she makes sure that your car is check from A to Z , and what ever you car needs, that is cover under your insurance , that angel makes it happen , and if you need to pay something out of pocket, don't worry Dina got youshe offer's you easy payments , but most of all this auto place tha's an excellent job on auto repair and any service that you might need for you car, last but not least Dina represents 100% trust, loyalty, and respect ,

After moving to LA in 2014, my car (now approaching 11 years old) has started breaking down frequently, requiring major repairs - the most recent being a serious gas leak. Whenever I have an issue with my car I take my car to University Tire. Compared to other auto shops they're reasonable, but considering its location in South LA, they're definitely not the cheapest either. John and his team are always friendly and great at communicating the status of my repair. However, there have been a couple uncomfortable encounters when bringing in or picking up my car. For the sake of brevity, I'll recount one anecdote: For context, I am a single female, full time student, and work two jobs (but still broke because the cost of USC's tuition is insane). I came in one afternoon to pick my car up. The man helping me (not John) gave me the price of the repair, which was more than I was expecting to spend. I needed a couple seconds to process the number / determine how I was going to divide payment. I said aloud, "Wow, that's expensive." Without missing a beat, the employee responded, "That's why you need to find yourself a rich boyfriend to take care of you." No woman wants to hear (or told) that she can't take care of herself without a man's money. More than a year later I frequently think about this exchange. Why does a trip to the mechanic also accompanied by unwanted sexist comments? I bring this particular story up because in the last year, or so, they hired Diana, who is fantastic. She is friendly, relatable, and approachable. I think Diana is a much needed valuable addition to their staff. I definitely feel more comfortable when I bring in my car.

I started coming here a few years ago, mainly for oil changes, as I've always loved the service and courtesy inspections (even though I didn't hold on to the information from each inspection until now). In the past year University Tire upgraded to an electronic system that captures the courtesy inspections they complete. University Tire is able to provide customers with a front-row seat to what the mechanics see, by emailing you photos from the inspection, providing a visual rating scale on how well to how poor your car is doing, and why! For someone that doesn't know much about cars, I do now! I'm able to see what's wrong, and am able to prioritize the work needed, because I know what can wait and what shouldn't. My Nissan of 10+ years old, is pushing 300,000 miles, but is in good shape because University Tire is providing me with first-hand insight on what's going on with my car as a preventative measure so I don't end up on the side of the road, and spending more in the long run because I waited until it was late.
