First time customer experience found through a AAA authorized auto center. I called in the morning to confirm my appointment and Smog Test serviced. The woman I spoke with confirmed it would be no problem. A 1:30p appointment, I arrive at 1:20, run through the services I was requiring (Smog Test ($65) and Oil Change ($80)). She provided me my total for both services and told her I’d be waiting. 40min later, she calls me and says their smog test machine hasn’t been working lately so they can’t perform the smog test. They normally would drive it over to an alternate location but they couldn’t do that because they were short staffed. I left, refusing to have my car serviced by this business. There is clearly a gap in communication amongst the business and its employees for me to go through all of that for 2 of their customer facing employees to not be aware of a machine not working, specially the machine I was very clear I needed for service. Overall, poor customer service, business practices, and communication. Maybe this is a one time occurrence but unfortunately, you sometimes only have one impression to make.
